Job summary

Bluewater Technologies Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead Technician to manage AV integration projects from start to finish at our Kentwood, MI location. You will lead teams, forecast materials and manpower, and fully commission systems including audio, video and control platforms.

You will ensure readiness for engineering teams and maintain strict adherence to QAT processes. The role requires CTS-I certification, strong AV networking, and hands-on experience with Crestron, AMX, Biamp, and Extron

Qualifications

• CTS-I certification is required.
• Advanced network knowledge is essential for AV installations.
• Must be able to set up Wi-Fi networks that support AV.
• Experience with AV over IP setups is needed.
• Familiarity with Dante and IP addressing.
• Ability to configure large networks (static IPs).
• Works well under time pressure and deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Committed to ongoing self-improvement and learning.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced rack-mounting and cabling skills.
• Experience with system commissioning at a high level.
• Crestron 101 training certification is preferred.
• Ability to load programmer-provided control code.
• Ability to load device firmware and software.
• Experience with Biamp audio configurations and software.
• Must have valid login credentials for Crestron, AMX, Biamp, Extron.
• Possess a current valid driver’s license.
• Presentable and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration projects of any size with multiple staff and contractors to 100% completion.
• Forecast job needs including materials and manpower.
• Fully commission systems: set audio levels, balance displays, manage resolution, test operation.
• Measure readiness for engineering/programming teams.
• Lead post-project discussions as needed.
• Follow and enforce QAT process.
• Provide vendor recommendations based on codes and best practices during installation.
• Coordinate with vendors for RMAs as required.
• Provide daily job reports to project managers and install supervisors.
• Maintain timely communication with project managers and install supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead any size integration projects with multiple staff/sub‑contractors and bring to 100% completion
• Forecast job needs including materials and manpower
• Fully commission any system by themselves. This includes:
  • Setting audio levels and gain structure
  • Color balance displays
  • Resolution management
  • System operation testing
  • Flawless system after commissioning is complete
• Measure job completion readiness for engineering/programming team
• Lead post project discussions as needed
• Follow and enforce QAT process
• Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards and best practices during the installation of a project
• Call vendor tech support and start RMAs as required
• Provide a daily job report to all necessary parties (if project lead) – this will provide status of the job, issues encountered, future parts needed, and hours required to complete the project
• Detailed and timely communication with project managers and install supervisor
• Other duties as assigned
