Job summary

Powerlink Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled on-site install and service lead for low voltage cabling and network support. The role involves managing a crew, coordinating with customers, and ensuring high-quality installation and testing of copper and fiber systems.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, own their tools (excluding testers), and be proficient with Fluke equipment. Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work on lifts is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber cabling systems.
• Strong tool ownership and ability to perform test/documentation tasks.
• Proficiency with Fluke testing equipment and cabling test standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, label and document cables (horizontal, backbone and others).
• Dress and route cables in telecom closets and work areas.
• Build out telecom and equipment rooms and firestop penetrations.
• Test and document results; interface with customer contacts and lead crew.
• Provide daily job briefings and updates to the team and client.

Job description

This position is responsible for on-site installation, service, and repair of low voltage data cabling as well as support for customer networks, Data (copper and fiber), Voice, AV systems, Access Control, CCTV (IP and analog). We are looking for a leader who can oversee a crew, work independently, and interact directly with customers.

Job Description:

• Install, terminate, test, label & document horizontal, backbone & other cables.
• Dress & route cable into telecom closets, modular furniture & other work area outlets.
• Build out telecom & equipment rooms
• Firestop various types of cable penetrations
• Test, troubleshoot, & document test results for cabling
• Interface with customer contacts on projects and lead crew
• Provide daily job briefings and updates

Successful candidates will have:

• At least 3 years’ experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber cable systems
• Their own tools, excluding testers
• Proficiency with Fluke testing equipment
• Working knowledge of current cabling standards and codes
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work on ladders
• Ability to work on scissor/ Boom lifts
• Training certifications a plus
