Job summary

CACI is seeking a Lead Technical Writer to support the DIA program, shaping how engineering teams communicate complex capabilities. You will lead a small team of writers, mentor staff, and drive documentation across hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities include producing SOPs, CONOPS, installation guides, and user articles; ensuring clear language, and coordinating with government customers on contract execution.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
• Minimum of five years in a technical or lead writing role
• Writing Excellence: distill complex information into clear, concise text under deadline pressure
• Production & Tooling: experience using multiple tools to develop base templates and manipulate output styles
• Technical Acumen: understanding of system development lifecycle, IC ITE, RMF
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new environments

Responsibilities

• Create and lead creation and writing of documents including how-to guides, references, SOPs, CONOPS, user knowledge articles, or instructions
• Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and document actions
• Explain technical ideas in simple language
• Write, edit, and produce comprehensive technical documentation for hardware and software systems
• Manage the full documentation lifecycle from drafting to maintenance
• Lead and mentor a team of technical writers and coordinate with government customer
• Escalation point for complex documentation challenges and timely resolutions
• Drive continuous improvement for documentation through best practices and peer reviews
