Job summary

Planet seeks a Technical Program Manager to drive the company’s largest cross-team initiatives. You will own end-to-end program plans, manage schedules, risks, and metrics, and partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science to deliver scalable data and insights.

You will lead the Insights Platform programs, building experiences to discover catalog contents and scaling high-performance services that feed user applications. This is a full-time, hybrid Arlington role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development or program management experience in SaaS, data lifecycles, discovery/search engines, or cloud-based content delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects across a broad organization.
• Experience with the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
• Experience optimizing cross-team delivery cycles in a matrixed org.
• Experience coordinating technical programs across global timezones with asynchronous workflows.
• Track record of system migrations or consolidations to unified platform endpoints.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communicative skills for stakeholders.
• Balance tactical work with forward-looking process improvements; interest in AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Drive product and engineering roadmap execution and delivery.
• Translate inputs into realistic, capacity-checked timelines across teams.
• Ensure product and design requirements are implemented to scope.
• Create and manage program schedules with incremental milestones.
• Manage external contract integration software developers.
• Identify dependencies and risks and make them actionable.
• Facilitate decisions with data-driven analysis and constructive debate.
• Communicate progress, priorities, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvements to workflows and processes.
