Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for Advanced Energy Technologies to lead long-term roadmaps and technical diligence across next-gen energy systems. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, assess TRL levels, and shape how Google invests in clean energy solutions.

You'll partner with commercial teams to structure deals, manage risks, and communicate hard engineering tradeoffs to executives, while influencing energy strategy across the company and its partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program management.
• 8 years of experience in technology assessment, R&D management, or technical consulting within the energy sector.
• Experience performing technical due diligence for energy projects or venture capital/private equity investments.
• Experience with power systems and integrating advanced energy technologies into the grid.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technology roadmaps for next-gen energy sectors to inform Google’s energy procurement and investments.
• Assess TRLs, performance claims, manufacturing scalability, and potential for cost reduction.
• Evaluate designs, milestones, delivery plans, and execution risks for projects.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure technically sound partnership structures and guarantees.
• Monitor the energy technology landscape and maintain relationships with startups, labs, and academia to stay at the forefront of energy innovation.
