Job summary

Overview
  • Customer Connectivity is a global Mastercard team that designs, builds and supports service platforms that provide cryptographic, key management and certificate management functions utilized by global Mastercard application teams.
  • The Customer Connectivity team develops and supports shared security services to be leveraged across Enterprise by consuming application teams. Our inventory of shared services include cryptography, certificate management, code signing, and key management.
  • This role is for a Technical Program Manager on a team responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a deep technical understanding of the applications/systems that they are working on and must be willing to dig in and ask challenging questions to make sure that plans are executed efficiently.
  • Candidates should have a strong interest in Corporate Security.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong technical leadership and ability to engage in out-of-the-box problem solving.
The Role

What’s it all about and what we expect you to do day to day

  • Applies Lean Management principles and helps multiple teams adopt agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and others.
  • Coordinates the implementation of agile practices across teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum rules, quality integration, and work-in-progress limits.
  • Facilitates cadence and synchronization across teams to ensure backlogs and solutions are well understood, addressed, and integrated.
  • Collaborates closely with product management to maintain a healthy, well-groomed, and prioritized backlog.
  • Organizes and accelerates related product engineering backlog items or activities across teams, aligning dependent organizations. Identifies and resolve blockers to maintain progress, even in challenging situations.
  • Develops effective reporting mechanisms to track execution and control progress. Recognizes complexity and creates predictable delivery paths for large or complex efforts. Strives to eliminate excess processes and drive continuous improvements through cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Drives outcomes from inception through successful delivery, managing the full stack of services or domains, and coordinating efforts across multiple teams and enterprise integrations.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for your team or area, ensuring transparency in backlog status. Provides clear, visually accessible data to the right stakeholders at all times, maintaining backlogs as dynamic, real-time information radiators for batch size and work flow.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the business strategy and design approaches within the product, program, or domain, ensuring credibility and effectiveness when working with teams. Independently represents the team’s services.
  • Works with ambiguity and limited guidance. While the business outcome or product strategy is defined, the path forward is unclear. Able to ignite momentum and kick-start agile ceremonies, bringing clarity and establishing a predictable delivery pattern.
  • Translates raw ideas into clear, concise communications and instructions for teams through backlog grooming.
  • Understands the needs of engineers and technical operations teams responsible for building, maintaining, and operating services and technical assets.
  • Regularly reviews metrics and proactively identifies new mechanisms for visibility, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
All About You And What You Need To Bring
  • Expertise in delivering agile solutions through Lean Product Management.
  • Lead and manage agile processes, including grooming, planning, prioritization, and retrospectives.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies, using agile techniques to remove obstacles and enable a smooth flow of work.
  • Ensure success metrics are defined; if not, take the initiative to establish them.
  • Continuously assess and optimize the product development lifecycle and software development lifecycle to improve the efficiency of concurrent project delivery.
  • Streamline or eliminate redundant processes across architecture, production, operations, or business areas to reduce recurring issues.
  • Deep experience with agile and modern SDLC practices (Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, Quality Engineering) and the specific contexts in which they are applied.
  • Capable of conducting product demos and collaborating with product owners to drive product acceptance and sign-offs.
  • Background in software engineering or product management, with a solid understanding of both fields

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
