This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of advanced analytics and observability solutions within Optum Insight’s Innovation portfolio. Leveraging generative AI, this role aims to transform prior authorization processes by streamlining workflows and reducing delays. As a key contributor, you will oversee auditing, logging, and dashboarding functionalities to enhance AI application performance and reliability. Collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders is essential to design scalable monitoring systems for generative AI and large language model (LLM) technologies, driving innovation and strategic alignment across teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to align analytics and observability strategies with business objectives
  • Define product requirements and user stories for auditing, logging, and dashboarding solutions with clear acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain detailed roadmaps to deliver AI observability and monitoring capabilities, leveraging Azure Databricks and related tools
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable solutions for LLM observability, telemetry, and analytics
  • Translate technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders while representing challenges and opportunities
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment across teams.
    Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize product performance and prioritize resources effectively
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the success of observability and analytics solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of post-launch products, ensuring adaptability to emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including new product development
  • 3+ years of experience building analytics or observability capabilities for external market products
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with AI observability tools and paradigms, including LLM monitoring
  • Proficiency in Azure Databricks and related data-intensive ecosystems
  • Proven solid technical acumen to design solutions that address complex data and monitoring challenges
  • Proven success in agile development environments and collaboration with engineering teams
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and make decisive, data-driven decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of healthcare experience
  • Experience in telemetry, monitoring, and logging systems for AI-intensive applications
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
