• Three years in a high volume environment.

Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage; recommend staffing adjustments based on customer needs and workload data and time standards. 2. Assign duties, reassign tasks as needed during the shift; supervise and counsel staff; provide input on performance for annual appraisals; perform staff competency assessment at least annually. 3. Act as liaison between lab assistants and technologist assuring an efficient work flow between lab assistant and technical areas. 4. Act as a resource person for lab assistants, answering questions of policy and procedure specimen requirements, equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, etc. 5. Document all activities as appropriate.15%Monitor workflow using on-line systems; verify collection and receipt of specimen, adjust workload to ensure equitable division of labor. Recommend to the manger ways to streamline operations and also solutions to problematic areas.15%Maintain competency in basic and technical lab assistant duties. Ensure adequate training of all Laboratory Assistants for collection and processing specimens plus all other duties technical or non-technical. Training includes orientation, monitoring and competency checks of staff.
