An established industry player is seeking a Lead Technical Developer who will work on complex styles and technical design packages for their innovative product lines. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure design accuracy and quality, leading fit sessions, and mentoring other developers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in apparel development, including proficiency in 3D modeling and technical sketching. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely from most U.S. locations, providing flexibility while contributing to cutting-edge apparel solutions.
Work on complex styles to create and update technical design packages, containing construction details, measurement specifications, and images for the factory to refer to during development and production, for NIKE’s Product Creation Center (PCC) and factory partners including measurements, construction sketches, and graphic placements. Conduct prototype review sessions and write comments using Digital 3D to initiate the style. Track and request prototypes for their styles, manage and meet their calendar target dates, attend meetings related to their product’s development, and communicate progress and challenges to your team as needed. Collaborate with other technical apparel counterparts and various product Integrity teams. Act as a technical resource, mentor other developers, keep ahead of market trends and new technologies. Attend meetings with Product Line Manager, Designer, and Material Team to review the design and identify potential risks before development. Review samples to ensure correct execution and make necessary specification changes. Lead and facilitate fit sessions with cross-functional teams, identify critical issues, suggest changes, and document fit issues with photos or sketches for future reference.
Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Fashion with five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a product-related occupation.
OR Employer will accept no degree and seven (7) years of progressive experience in the job offered or in a product-related occupation, with experience including the above skills.
