Evolent is seeking a Lead HRIS Analyst to support and enhance the Workday HCM system. You will collaborate with HR and stakeholders to automate processes and improve efficiency using the Workday platform.

The role emphasizes design, configuration, security, reporting, and ongoing enhancements to deliver an excellent end-user experience. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in HR ERP development, strong Workday HCM experience, and expertise in APIs and integrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in an HR ERP system development role with troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years Workday HCM experience across multiple modules.
  • Strong Workday Security knowledge and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with APIs, data formats (CSV, XML, JSON), and integration best practices.
  • Experience with EIB, XSLT, Core Connectors, PECI, payroll integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Workday administration, including business process configuration and HR system design.
  • Collaborate with HR and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions in Agile.
  • Identify root causes, design Workday-based improvements for short and long-term needs.
  • Configure security and create custom reports and dashboards.
  • Document designs, configurations, and testing for requested changes.

Stay for the culture.What You’ll Be Doing:Job SummaryWe are seeking a Lead HRIS Analyst to support the maintenance and enhancement of the Workday HCM system. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve efficiencies and automate processes using the Workday platform. The Lead HRIS Analyst will optimize system functionality through continuous process improvements and enhancements to provide an excellent end-user experience.Essential FunctionsSupport system administration, including business process configuration and design of Workday HR.Collaborate with HR and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deploy high-quality solutions in an Agile framework.Understand system pain points, determine root causes, and develop solutions in Workday to address short-term and long-term requirements.Identify and manage dependencies and downstream impacts of projects to minimize adverse effects on the system and business processes.Design and develop custom reports to meet business requirements.Configure and administer security in compliance with policies and procedures.Deliver end-user support by conducting root cause analysis and resolving issues through the ticketing system.Create and maintain detailed documentation for the design, configuration, and testing of requested changes and enhancements.Manage the design and development of deliverables independently.Support Workday release activities.Train, coach, and mentor team members.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.7+ years experience with an HR ERP system development role (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.) troubleshooting and resolving environment issues for enterprise software applications.At least 5 years of experience in Workday HCM with expertise in multiple modules.Strong knowledge of Workday Security.Proficient in Workday report writing (custom, advanced, matrix, and composite), dashboards, and hubs.Strong understanding of APIs, data serialization formats (CSV, XML, JSON), and software integration best practices.Proficiency in Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), XSLT, data transformation, Core Connectors, and PECI, payroll integrations.Experience with BIRT for creating custom reports and managing reporting needs within Workday.Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect and design scalable solutions.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.Emphasize lead analysts should have strong coding skills JSON,APIs, Web Services.Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools such as Workday AI/Agents, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies to improve productivity, automate tasks, and enhance workflows.Ability to identify and implement process improvements by combining HR domain knowledge, system expertise, and automation capabilities to drive better business outcomes.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Workday Studio & BIRT and designing business document layouts.Experience as a technical lead on a large full life-cycle implementation of Workday HCM.Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree in IT or related field.Preferred CertificationsWorkday CertificationsGeneral Performance CriteriaAs the Lead Tech Analyst, HR Information Systems, you will be required to fulfill your responsibilities while meeting the following general performance criteria for this position at this level:Expertise: You have very deep knowledge of the skills necessary to perform your role, and the structure of the technology for which you are responsible.Communication: You guide others through problem solving whether it is a technical issue, project impediment, or conflict.Domain: You guide the delivery of your team to make a positive impact on other parts of the company based on detailed knowledge of the needs of those stakeholders and how those needs are supported by your team.System: You own relevant segment of systems that are used regularly for the business to function and are well versed in the related KPIs.Process: You question the status quo in a constructive manner to find areas for the team to improve.Influence: You regularly make an impact to your entire teamTo ensure a secure hiring process we have implemented several identity verification steps, including submission of a government issued photo ID.
