Lead Teachers wanted for March 2025

2024-2025 School Year Early Childhood Teacher Search!

Seeking Team-Teachers for a play-based, nature-rich classroom setting for the 2025-2026 school year, with the option to begin as early as March 2025 to participate in professional development and training alongside seasoned educators.

Resumes will be collected and responded to on a first-come, first-served basis, with interviews beginning in January 2025.

This will be a team-teaching position in a cooperative work environment that values its teachers, students, and families. TCC prioritizes planning and prep time, research, professional development, and creativity. Our program draws inspiration from research-based philosophies including Reggio-Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori, and emphasizes outdoor learning in well-equipped outdoor classrooms. Each Lead Teacher has opportunities to teach in small and large groups, in individual sessions, and as part of a team. Classrooms are equipped with an Atelier (art studio), Dramatic Playroom, Traditional Classroom, and STEM area, providing a diverse range of materials and educational opportunities.

Job Details:
  • The ideal candidate will join our dynamic team to create, support, and implement safe, fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate curricula in a nature/outdoor-focused setting for children aged 2 to 5 years. Responsibilities include classroom design, curriculum development, student assessments, and supporting classroom functions such as bathroom routines, maintenance, and cleanliness. This role requires dedication, experience, confidence, and best practices in early childhood education, with opportunities to work with interns and new teachers.
  • This position is ideal for an experienced educator interested in professional growth, transitioning from a traditional classroom role to mentoring, coaching, or other professional development positions while maintaining classroom involvement.
  • The Children’s Center of Brookline adheres to Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care standards and draws from philosophies like Waldorf, Curiosity Approach, Reggio-Emilia, Montessori, and project-based pedagogies, with a strong focus on outdoor education and risky play.

The Children’s Center of Brookline offers comprehensive benefits, including full medical, dental, disability, and life insurance, generous paid leave, low teacher-student ratios (1:5 in preschool, 1:3 in toddler programs), protected planning and team meeting time, and access to materials, coaching, and resources to support best practices in early childhood education.

The center is open year-round but can offer a school-year schedule to the ideal candidate.
