Job summary

The Learning Experience in Rock Hill is seeking a passionate South Carolina First Steps 4K Teacher to create a nurturing environment where four-year-olds can thrive. You will implement the 4K curriculum, assess progress, and collaborate with families and staff to support each child's growth.

The role requires SC 4K certification or progress toward it, a 4K-related degree, and strong communication and adaptability in a dynamic school setting. CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Two-year degree with progress toward teacher education program within four years.
• SC 4K teaching certification or equivalent.
• Experience with preschool-aged children.
• Solid understanding of child development principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for 4-year-olds based on SC First Steps 4K guidelines.
• Create engaging lesson plans promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Provide a safe and supportive learning environment fostering creativity and curiosity.
• Observe and assess individual children's progress, and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about progress and needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Attend professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills.
• Record classroom attendance daily in Child Plus and Core systems.
• Adhere to an approved, research-based preschool curriculum aligned with SC Early Learning Standards.

Qualifications

• A Two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field where Teachers possessing a two-year degree must be enrolled and demonstrating progress toward the completion of a teacher education program within four years. or


• South Carolina teaching certification for 4K or equivalent.


• Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.


• Solid understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.


• Strong organizational and time management skills.


• Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
