Job summary

South Carolina First Steps is seeking a 4K Lead Teacher to support developmentally appropriate activities that foster physical, social, and emotional growth in young children. The role emphasizes safety, family communication, and adherence to the First Steps 4K curriculum.

Ideal candidates hold a two-year early childhood degree (progress toward a four-year program). CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred, and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in early childhood or related field; progress toward four-year program.
• Pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Registry background check.
• Ability to use various computer applications to complete tasks.
• Wamiliar with First Steps 4K trainings and CE hours requirement.

Responsibilities

• Follow all employer policies and procedures at all times.
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with First Steps 4K curriculum.
• Keep parents updated on students’ daily activities and progress.
• Communicate with families daily or weekly, in writing or face-to-face.
• Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment.
• Perform daily cleaning routines to keep facilities sanitary and safe.
• Attend all required First Steps 4K trainings and obtain continuing education hours.

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young children? The Learning Experience is looking for a patient and compassionate teacher who has experience working with young children. The First Steps 4K Lead Teacher will help lead developmentally appropriate activities that encourage healthy physical, social, and emotional development for students.

• Follow all employer policies and procedures at all times
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans in accordance with the First Steps 4K approved curriculum
• Keep parents and families updated on their students’ daily activities and progress
• Communicate with families on a daily or weekly basis through writing or face-to-face.
• Foster a classroom environment of safety and respect
• Perform daily cleaning routines to keep facilities sanitary and safe
• Attend all required First Steps 4K and SC DSS trainings and obtain required continuing education hours.
