Job summary

The Goddard School of Maplewood is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum using our Wonder of Learning program. You will lead daily activities, foster a nurturing classroom, and maintain open communication with families and guardians about each child’s progress.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education required.
• CDA preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty members.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum using the Wonder of Learning program.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain open, effective communication with families and guardians about child progress and activities.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold safety standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
• Observe, assess and document children's learning and development to inform activities.
• Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers.
• Model positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth.
