Job summary

Huntey’s Clubhouse in Michigan is seeking qualified caregivers to lead classrooms, develop engaging lesson plans, and support children's growth in a safe, nurturing environment. You will work with parents and staff to ensure educational goals align with licensing standards and the school’s philosophy.

The role emphasizes collaboration, ongoing professional development, and hands-on involvement in diverse activities to promote social, emotional, and physical milestones among children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year (1,920 hours) of experience in a licensed child care setting OR possession of a CDA Credential.
• MiRegistry-approved training: 3 hours in Program Management, Observation/Documentation/Assessment, and Teaching & Learning; 6 hours in Interactions and Guidance, Challenging Behaviors, or Trauma-Informed Practices.
• Pathway 2 requires 6 months (960 hours) of licensed child care experience and 6 semester hours/9 CEUs/90 clock hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Care Administration, or a child-related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor Assistant Teachers and classroom aides.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Huntey’s Clubhouse educational philosophy.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can explore, play, and learn.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians to share children’s developmental progress and achievements.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure curriculum goals and classroom management strategies are implemented.
• Uphold Michigan Child Care Licensing rules to ensure classroom compliance.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and classroom management.
