Job summary

Cadence Education in Columbia, SC is seeking a Lead Teacher for toddler/preschool classrooms. You will support daily operations, assist with Cadence curricula, and help create a safe, nurturing environment that meets the developmental and behavioral needs of children, including those with IEPs.

You will collaborate with the Lead Teacher and families, document activities, and uphold licensing requirements to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• State licensing requirements must be met where applicable.
• Must meet minimum state requirements for the role.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment with dignity and respect.
• Greet children and families daily and establish professional relationships.
• Recognize and respond to developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs per IEPs and plans.
• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing curriculum and Cadence programs.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence tools.
• Follow Cadence Safety and Supervision Manual and document incidents.
• Help manage and escalate child behaviors per policies and classroom expectations.
• Adhere to Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development, including outside hours.
