Job summary

The Goddard School of North Queen Anne in Seattle is seeking an experienced, passionate Lead Teacher to help open and grow a brand-new early childhood program. You will implement our Wonder of Learning® curriculum, nurture young children, and build strong relationships with families.

You’ll participate in comprehensive training, enjoy a collaborative, family-like workplace, and benefit from flexible scheduling and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA credential preferred, or ability to obtain an ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry.
• Commitment to work toward an ECE Short Certificate within two years of receiving the Initial Certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Completion of Washington State–required pre-service training; 30 hours STARS; Safe Sleep; First Aid/CPR; Food Handler’s Permit; TB test clearance and MMR vaccination verification.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum & Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum to engage each child.
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians.
• Health and Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities per licensing standards.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe, assess and document children’s learning to inform activities and share insights with families.
• Team Collaboration: Support assistants and fellow teachers while fostering a positive team environment.
• Behavior Guidance: Use positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned
