Excellence Community Schools (ECS) is a Charter Management Organization (CMO) supporting schools in the Bronx, NY, and Stamford, CT. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the grade-level team to implement best practices for all learners
  • Design purposeful lessons to facilitate understanding of new concepts
  • Utilize developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned curricula and materials
  • Introduce new ideas through diverse strategies, inspiring student exploration
  • Collect and analyze assessment data to monitor progress
  • Build relationships with families to support student learning
  • Participate in assessments to diagnose student needs
  • Supervise lunch and recess
  • Provide classroom coverage and support as needed
Requirements
  • NYS Teacher Certification (Birth-2nd Grade or Grades 1-6) or reciprocity

Additional considerations include:

  • Three years of elementary or middle classroom teaching, college faculty experience, or two years through Teach for America
  • Exceptional professional or artistic experience
  • Completion of NYS workshop requirements
  • Preferred: elementary teaching experience or experience with school-age children
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred

  • Salary range $68,735 - $143,740, based on experience
