Lower Elementary Generalist Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Teach core subjects: Math, ELA, Social Studies, Science, Civility
• Develop and maintain respective grade curriculum for Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Civility, and other subject matter as needed.
• Plan and prepare a program of study, including course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts, using various instructional techniques and media tailored to students' individual needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers to address individual students' needs and seek additional perspectives on challenges they face.
• Provide substitute support for other teachers as needed.
• Assume responsibilities like lunch, playground duty, and dismissal/arrival duties.
• Attend school functions such as arts programs, field trips, parent-teacher nights, and evening events.
• Teach classes on campus and remotely if required.

Requirements / Qualifications

Teaching at Adda Clevenger:

Students have scheduled classes from 8am to 5pm. Teachers are expected to be on campus during these hours to teach, substitute, prepare lessons, attend meetings, and support students in emergencies.

Lead teachers typically teach 4-6 instructional periods daily, with responsibilities including supervision, advisory duties, substitute coverage, and special projects.

There are 180 instructional days with breaks. Teachers participate in school life, supporting activities like student productions, Spirit Day, or clubs. Teachers enjoy autonomy in developing and adapting curricula based on student and classroom needs.
