Job summary

Lansdowne YMCA, in partnership with Delaware County Community College, seeks a full-time Lead Teacher for its new Early Learning Center in Lansdowne, PA. The role focuses on nurturing, engaging classrooms aligned with PA Early Learning Standards and YMCA values.

Hours are 9:00am–5:30pm or 9:30am–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with collaboration among teacher teams and ongoing trainings to support children's growth and family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with 30 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 2 years (2500 hours) documented experience working with children.
• CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid (or ability to obtain within 15 days).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commitment to professional growth and working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on child assessments
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and well-supervised classroom environment
• Use positive guidance strategies aligned with YMCA core values
• Build strong relationships with families and communicate children’s progress
• Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and attend required meetings and trainings
• Follow all supervision, safety, and mandated reporter policies
