Job summary

The Darnell School, a program of Advocates, seeks a Head Teacher to supervise a classroom of up to six students and all assigned staff. You will design and implement IEPs, conduct assessments, and prepare progress reports to support individualized learning goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Active pursuit of Massachusetts State Teaching License in Moderate or Severe Disabilities is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support up to six students in the classroom.
• Conduct and document educational, behavioral, and vocational assessments.
• Write and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress reports.
• Design, develop and modify student programming.
• Lead and mentor classroom staff and coordinate schedules and meetings.
• Collaborate with families, behavior specialists, and consultants for student programming.
• Transport students as needed and maintain licensure progress.
