Overview Of Essential Functions
- Responsibilities include teaching core math, language arts, and social studies academics.
- Higher-level math experience is desirable.
- Complete progress reports including a written narrative for three trimesters.
- Plan and implement parent teacher conferences.
- Work with grade level coordinator and team members collaboratively.
- Have a working knowledge of project-based learning approach with experience.
- Additional responsibilities include regular faculty meetings, the supervision of students during faculty duties, recess, and dismissal.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a closely related field; a master’s degree is desirable. Teaching experience in a lower or elementary school setting is a plus.
Key Skills And Attributes
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, practical oral and communication skills, and experience working with cooperative and differentiated instruction. Experience with Reading and Writing Units of Study, Bridges Math, and project-based learning would be expedient.

Requires strong interaction with all School divisions and departments.

- Ability to participate in Professional Development and Curriculum Implementation- Recognizes the importance of learning and motivates others by own enthusiasm. Must be able to implement reading, math, social studies and writing curriculum.
- Time Management Skills – Conducts small group or individual differentiated groups in addition to providing whole group lessons. Planning time is given to plan engaging, effective, and differentiated lessons regularly.
- Organizational Skills – Plans implementation of curriculum, conferences, and reports. Must be able to gather, organize, and track growth data and apply it to instructional goals for students.
- Communications Skills –Must be able to reply to emails or texts promptly. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and high levels of empathy and patience.
- Written Communication Skills – Must be able to participate in email, text, and phone calls. Effectively communicates with faculty, students, administration, or families.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus with screens, white boards, printed material, and ability to see children in detail. The employee must be able to lift at least thirty pounds. The employee is also regularly required to climb two flights of stairs.

Compensation
GCS offers a competitive salary and benefits. The salary range for this position will be $50,000-70,000.
