Position: Lead Teacher (4 yr old Classroom)

Pay Range Code: LT

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the School Leader, responsible for the total classroom operation in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Leads the classroom and collaborates with Teacher II in planning and executing daily activities.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  1. Implements agency-wide curriculum, Head Start standards, program assessment, and service plans.
  2. Administers Ages and Stages Questionnaires for initial developmental screening.
  3. Uses curriculum software to track children's developmental skills as required by HSPPS.
  4. Utilizes the CAP-selected classroom support model for classroom management.
  5. Collaborates with CAP staff, Family Support personnel, parents, volunteers, and partners.
  6. Conducts at least two home visits and two parent conferences per child within the designated time frame.
  7. Participates in Family Child Review meetings, multidisciplinary teams, crisis intervention, etc.
  8. Develops daily schedules and weekly lesson plans based on observations, parental input, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  9. Sets goals using individualization forms to address each child's developmental needs.
  10. Completes required documentation such as monthly reports, attendance, meal counts, family contacts, and injury reports.
  11. Ensures compliance with Head Start standards, NAEYC accreditation, and DHS licensing.
  12. Implements intervention strategies for students with challenging behaviors.
  13. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience

State of Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood for the 4-year-old classroom.

Physical & Mental Requirements
