POSITION AVAILABLE: MONTESSORI CERTIFIED CO-LEAD TEACHER, 3 - 6 YEAR OLDS, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

Torit Montessori School is an infant through sixth-grade independent school on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill. Our mission is to educate bright and capable students in the spirit of Dr. Maria Montessori’s groundbreaking methods, allowing students to explore materials, ideas, and applications at their own pace, with guidance, direction, and encouragement from teachers.

DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS:We seek a dynamic Montessori-certified teacher. The teacher will partner closely with an experienced co-lead teacher and must be excited about building a collaborative learning partnership. The successful candidate will share responsibility for leading aspects of the school experience, including developing strong partnerships with colleagues and families. All teachers are responsible for supervising the classroom environment, developing and delivering curriculum, establishing classroom routines, family communications, and record keeping. This position is full-time with benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Prioritize the safety and well-being of all studentsLead academic and behavioral routines

Perform recess, lunch, nap, opening/closing circle, free play, dismissal, and other duties as needed, including walking safely with young children outside

Maintain professional communication with peers and families and exhibit a collegial demeanor

Ability to work collaboratively to enhance curriculum and communityParticipate in and support special events/activitiesParticipate in professional development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:One to five years of experience with preschool or kindergarten aged students

  • AMS/AMI Montessori certification
  • AA required; BA/BS preferred
