Job summary

The Goddard School in Overland Park, KS is seeking a caring Lead Teacher to guide a classroom of young children through play and exploration. You’ll create a safe, engaging space and collaborate with a leadership team to support student growth.

You’ll lead daily activities aligned with the Wonder of Learning curriculum, build strong relationships with families, and ensure licensing, health, and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• CDA/Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool preferred.
• State-required pre-service training completed (or willingness to complete upon hire).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of caring for young children.

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Create a warm, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Build meaningful relationships with children and their families.
• Observe and document children's growth and development.
• Guide children's social-emotional development using positive behavior strategies.
• Partner with Assistant Teachers to create a successful classroom team.
• Maintain licensing, health, and safety standards throughout the day.
