Position: Lead Teacher at Primrose School of Hilburn, Raleigh, NC

You will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, following the Primrose Balanced Learning approach.

Primrose School is an accredited private preschool offering year-round programs for children from infants through Pre-Kindergarten.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
  • Follow all rules and regulations of Primrose School of Hilburn and relevant regulatory agencies regarding health, safety, and child care.
  • Assess each child's developmental needs regularly.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Coordinate parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with leadership team members.
  • Maintain an attractive, engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and decision-making.
  • Provide verbal recognition and set clear behavioral expectations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school events as required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as per the Employee Handbook.
  • Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Meet local child care regulatory requirements.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs for child handling, safety, and emergency situations. For Infant and Toddler teachers, ability to lift infants into and out of cribs.
  • Educational qualifications:
    • Infant to Preschool Teachers: 2-year degree in early childhood or related field (preferred).
    • Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4-year degree in early childhood or related field (required).
