Job summary

YWCA Minneapolis is seeking a Lead Teacher to create a high-quality, nurturing, anti-bias classroom environment and provide leadership within the classroom team to support children's development. You will ensure strong care, communication, and developmental support for diverse learners.

The role requires one year of Early Childhood Education experience, Minnesota DHS Rule 3 qualifications, and current First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in Early Childhood Education.
  • Meet Minnesota DHS Rule 3 Teacher qualifications, including required in-service hours.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay Range: $24.00/hour
Status: Full-Time
Location: South, YWCA Minneapolis

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a high-quality, nurturing, anti-bias, developmentally appropriate classroom environment. You will provide leadership within the classroom team and ensure strong care, communication, and developmental support for children.

  • Develop and implement theme-based curriculum aligned with YWCA’s Anti-Bias Curriculum
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Assess, document, and communicate children’s developmental progress
Core Competencies
  • Early Childhood Education & Development: Ability to support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development using best practices
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Experience guiding classroom staff and serving as a role model and mentor
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with families, staff, and stakeholders

Required:
  • Minimum of one year experience in Early Childhood Education

  • AA or BA in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field
