Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a lead teacher supervisor to support the program director, hire and train LifeWise teachers, and manage day-to-day instructional operations. This part-time role emphasizes curriculum planning, staff development, record-keeping, and ongoing communication with volunteers and leadership.

The position requires classroom teaching experience, active church involvement, and a committed Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in a school or church setting
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Plan Curriculum: Determine which LifeWise lessons will be taught during each school year
• Plan Curriculum: Keep all teachers and classes consistent with regards to expectations, procedures, processes, curriculum and the LifeWise mission
• Plan Curriculum: Work with the program director to provide teachers with curriculum and supplemental materials
• Train and Observe Teachers: Organize a teacher training day at the start of each school year
• Train and Observe Teachers: Lead regular teacher meetings to maintain consistency in procedures, curriculum and expectations within the program
• Train and Observe Teachers: Assist the program director in observing teachers
• Train and Observe Teachers: Attend as a team liaison or invite teachers to virtual and in-person teacher training opportunities provided by the LifeWise Support Center
• Train and Observe Teachers: Attend and encourage teacher participation at the annual LifeWise Summit
• Create and Maintain Records: Create classroom schedules and coordinate any changes with staff
• Create and Maintain Records: Keep and maintain accurate class rosters, including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slips
• Create and Maintain Records: Assist the director in developing and maintaining program policies and procedures
• Communicate: Represent LifeWise teachers at Leadership Board meetings
• Communicate: Regularly visit program classes to provide support and encouragement
• Communicate: Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
• Communicate: Submit regular updates, stories and photos to the program director
• Other Duties: Assist the program director in other responsibilities as needed
