Job summary

The Nest Family Center in New Hampshire is seeking a Lead Childcare Teacher (full-time or part-time) to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans for preschoolers and lead a classroom with warmth and expertise.

The role offers $20/hour with weekday hours: 8:00 am–4:30 pm for full-time or 8:00 am–1:00 pm or 12:00 pm–5:00 pm for part-time, plus benefits like health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k), growth opportunities, free childcare for one child, and

Qualifications

• Completion of 18 credits in related coursework, including 3 credits in child growth and development, and 1000 hours of experience
• Completion of 12 credits in related coursework plus 3000 hours of experience working with children in an elementary school or licensed childcare program
• Non-expired CDA in center-based programs awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition
• A credential from a MACTE-accredited teacher preparation program
• 5+ years of experience as a licensed family childcare provider with no enforcement actions
• Completion of the New Hampshire Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program
• 1000 hours of supervised childcare experience in a licensed program and completion of a 2-year vocational course in career and technical education with 9 related credits
• Documentation that you were qualified for and employed as a lead teacher on or before November 6, 2017

Responsibilities

• Design creative, educational lesson plans based on a themed curriculum calendar
• Collaborate with teaching team to make each day engaging
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and nurturing classroom environment
• Oversee daily activities and supervise children
• Communicate with families about child progress and concerns

QUALIFICATIONS

Our Lead Teacher needs to meet at least one of the following state requirements:

• Completion of 18 credits in related coursework, including 3 credits in child/human growth and development, and 1000 hours of experience working with children in an elementary school or a licensed childcare program
• Completion of 12 credits in related coursework plus 3000 hours of experience working with children in an elementary school or licensed childcare program
• Non-expired child development associate (CDA) in center-based programs awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition
• A credential from a MACTE-accredited teacher preparation program
• 5+ years of experience as a licensed family childcare provider with no imposed enforcement actions
• Completion of the New Hampshire Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program
• 1000 hours of supervised childcare experience in a licensed program and completion of a 2-year vocational course in career and technical education with 9 credits in related coursework
• Documentation that you were qualified for and employed as a lead teacher on or before November 6, 2017

Preferred Criteria

LEAD CHILDCARE TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Full-time Lead Teacher works 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Our Part-time Lead Teacher Works either 8:00 am-1:00pm or 12:00 pm- 5:00 pm
