Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians through progress reports and conferences.
  • Co-write a monthly newsletter about grade-level curriculum and activities; share students’ work with Director of Communications to post on social media.
  • Support school-wide events including Back to School Night, math mornings, portfolio day, field day, and admissions events.
  • Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips.

Responsibilities of the Lead Teacher
  • Knowledge of and experience in hands-on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development and literacy skills; be highly motivated, hard-working, collaborative, enthusiastic about working with young children, energetic and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; and show initiative.
  • Have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary-aged students. In addition to having the required professional and educational background, we seek an enthusiastic, energetic candidate.
  • Build a joyful and nurturing classroom community that sparks intellectual curiosity and growth for all students, and demonstrates clear and affirming classroom management.
  • Collaborate with one’s grade level team to plan and teach an integrated, mission-aligned, early elementary program, including literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and social emotional learning.
  • Administer and analyze assessments to differentiate for a range of learners.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians through formal reporting (progress reports and conferences) as well as more informal check-ins.
