Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Signal Processing Engineer in Linthicum, MD to lead design, development, integration, and verification of advanced signal processing for complex sensor systems.

The ideal candidate will guide architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with hardware, software, and integration teams on embedded processors, FPGAs, or real‑time platforms. A U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with digital signal processing theory and application.
• Experience developing and analyzing algorithms in MATLAB, Python, or similar.
• System‑level signal processing for radar or similar sensing systems.
• Structured systems engineering with requirements, architecture, and verification.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead system‑level architecture and design of signal processing chains for RF or multi‑sensor systems.
• Develop and analyze algorithms for detection, estimation, tracking, and data fusion.
• Perform simulation (MATLAB, Python, C++) to evaluate performance and robustness.
• Define system requirements, budgets, interfaces, and key design parameters.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams to implement algorithms on embedded processors and FPGAs.
• Lead or support lab/field test activities and post‑test analysis.
• Prepare technical reviews and briefings for leadership and customers.
