Job summary

Canvas II, LLC. is seeking a senior system safety engineer to support on-site activities at Eglin AFB, FL. The role focuses on hazard analysis, risk assessment, and system safety requirements across DoD programs.

You will lead safety program activities, review safety artifacts, and ensure compliance with Air Force standards while coordinating with engineering, T&E, logistics, and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Secret with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor of Science in a relevant discipline with 5+ years of experience, or Master of Science with 3+ years.
• Ability to define and manage system safety programs and documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead system safety program activities providing senior technical guidance on hazard analysis and risk assessment.
• Oversee development and validation of system safety artifacts (SSHA, SAR, hazard logs).
• Evaluate OEM safety assessments and validate probability models for risk characterization.
• Deliver senior‑level recommendations supporting Air Force approvals and risk acceptance.
• Provide safety oversight for test events and ensure safety constraints are embedded in tests.
