Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Lead Systems Quality and Reliability Engineer in Santa Clara, CA to own and scale RMA/FA debugging for AI/ML products. You will conduct tests, root-cause analysis, and drive improvements across hardware and software interfaces.

The role requires 8+ years in systems test/validation, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with lab equipment and FA techniques (FIB, SEM, TDR, VNA). You will collaborate across engineering teams and with CM partners to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• BS/MS in EE, Physics or related degree and 8+ years of hands-on systems test/validation experience.
• Proven hands-on management and leadership experience.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers.
• Working knowledge of FA techniques and tools (FIB, SEM, TDR, VNA, CSAM).
• Strong fault isolation techniques (OBIRCH, DLS/LADA, LVP, LVI).
• Proficiency with high-speed interfaces (SerDes, PCIe, DDR).
• Proficiency in Python, PERL, C++, or other languages on UNIX/Linux.
• Excellent PCB and system-level test and debug knowledge; able to manage CM partners for RMA/FA.

Responsibilities

• Lead debug and root-cause analysis of field RMAs.
• Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software and Operations engineers to scale root-cause FA capabilities.
• Create FA result reports aligned with 8D or similar processes.
• Analyze RMA, FA and repair data.
• Identify trends and raise quality alerts when necessary.
• Drive resolution, containment, and mitigation plans for quality alerts.
• Oversee hardware quality performance, monitoring field data and metrics like RMA rates, MTBF, and Reliability Ratio.
• Manage FA performance at CM partners, ensuring key KPIs such as FA cycle times and fault isolation rates.
• Oversee setup of new products into Failure Analysis operations.
