Job summary

Abbott Park, IL, is seeking a Staff Systems Integration Specialist to ensure subsystems integrate as a cohesive system. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, and operations to deliver robust solutions for diagnostics and core lab products.

You will define system requirements, execute verification/validation, and lead risk assessments while mentoring teammates and driving process improvements in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life or Physical Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Minimum seven years of experience leading complex system and risk analysis.
• Proven ability to use data to influence decisions and stakeholders.
• Experience with regulated product development and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor team members across engineering, quality and operations.
• Define and document system requirements for hardware, software, assays, reagents and labeling.
• Develop and execute integration, verification, and validation testing.
• Analyze technical data, interpret results, and recommend improvements.
• Drive risk management activities including FMEA and hazard assessments.
• Lead development of system integration test methods and troubleshooting.
