Astrion is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join AFRL RAPID Lab at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead reporting to RAPID Program Manager and Technical Director.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and stakeholder briefings.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to align objectives across programs.
• Mentor junior engineers and subcontractors.
• Develop and manage system-of-systems requirements with traceability across subsystems.
• Oversee interface definitions, validation, and verification activities.
• Identify and mitigate risks in software, hardware, and network domains.
• Develop CONOPS and mission-level use cases.
• Support preliminary and detailed system architectures.
• Conduct system-level trade studies and modeling efforts.
• Assist in test plan development and reviewing results.
• Participate in integration and system-level validation.
• Apply MBSE and SE best practices to drive results.
