Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team and develop complex electronic surveillance systems for both commercial and government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Experience with electromechanical and/or embedded software systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and system integration.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, typically less than 2 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature development and change requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which provide safety-critical surveillance throughout the world.
• Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal systems engineering processes.
• Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groups.
• Coordinate with product development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of risk.
• Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performance.
• Support technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs.
