Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Human Performance Research to support government research programs. You will apply systems engineering to define problems, review designs, manage risks, and help transition capabilities into operational use with government and research teams.

You will review documentation, ensure alignment with objectives, and present technical recommendations to leadership, collaborating across software, hardware, and program management stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, human systems integration or related areas.
• Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation for software/hardware.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems thinking to problem definition and solution development.
• Review software, hardware, and workflow designs for technical quality and alignment with requirements.
• Lead or support development and approval of technical documentation.
• Evaluate performance, maturity, integration, and transition readiness.
• Identify risks, interfaces, and potential impacts to objectives.
• Support research-to-operations planning and transitions to usable environments.
• Collaborate with government customers, researchers, and engineers.
• Provide technical recommendations and briefings to leadership.
• Prepare and present roadmaps and recommendations to program leaders.
