Zachary Piper Solutions in Lanham, MD is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for an onsite, full-time role in aerospace and telecommunications. You will own technical direction from requirements through verification, manage budgets, and mentor a growing team while coordinating RF, software, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of systems engineering, 2+ years leading a team, and hands-on MBSE and MATLAB/Simulink experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 2+ years as lead of a systems engineering team.
• Experience with MBSE tools and MATLAB/Simulink for analysis

Responsibilities

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a growing aerospace and telecommunication company. This is onsite in Lanham, MD and a full-time position.

Essential Duties of the Lead Systems Engineer:

• Owning technical direction from requirements definition through verification and validation
• Develop, maintain, and track technical budgets (mass, power, link, schedule).
• Lead the development of new mission concepts and system architectures.
• Translate high-level requirements into actionable subsystem and interface specifications
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines (RF, software, mechanical, electrical).
• Mentor junior systems engineers and contribute to team process improvement initiatives

Qualifications of the Lead Systems Engineer:

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience as Lead of a Systems Engineering team.
• Requirements management tools: DOORS, Jama, or equivalent
• MBSE tools: Cameo Systems Modeler or something similar
• Experience with MATLAB / Simulink for analysis and trade studies

Compensation for the Lead Systems Engineer:

• $120,000 - $200,000 (based on experience)
