Job summary

Palski & Associates, Inc. is seeking a technically adept leader to oversee space acquisitions and guide a team of engineers in a mission-focused environment in Colorado Springs.

You will set technical vision, drive analyses, and communicate COA assessments to senior leadership on-site with the customer. The ideal candidate brings space systems experience, strong systems engineering skills, and willing to undergo a Counter-Intelligence polygraph.

Qualifications

  • Experience in design, development, analysis, or acquisition of space systems.
  • Experience in multiple space operations and space control-related fields (orbit dynamics, rendezvous, navigation, sensors, communications, C2).
  • Demonstrated systems engineering skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the USSF Materiel Leader; lead analyses and trades to inform architectural and financial decisions.
  • Create and brief clear summaries of COA assessments to O-6+ leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership to acquisitions through life cycle from concept to operations.
  • Lead development and maintenance of a complete technical baseline (requirements, ICDs) for acquisitions.
  • Mentor engineers to grow their careers while delivering optimal customer support.

Job description

Confident in your technical and leadership capabilities, able set a technical vision and lead a team to execute against it, willing to continue learning new technologies as mission needs morph, and desire to work on-site in Colorado Springs, CO, side-by-side with our teammates and customers helping to oversee small, agile teams.

You will

Provide direct support to the USSF Materiel Leader responsible for these acquisitions. Lead analyses and trades to help inform government architectural & financial decisions. Create and brief clear & comprehendible summaries of your work & COA assessments to O-6+ level leadership.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to acquisitions through all phases of the life cycle from initial concept development, mission engineering, and source selection through development and transition to operations & sustainment. Lead the development and maintenance of a complete technical baseline (requirements, ICDs, etc.) that will serve as the foundation of these acquisitions and integration between systems.

Help lead a team of engineers to provide the support described above. Help mentor the team of engineers to help them grow in their careers while providing optimal support to the customer.

You have
  • Experience in design, development, analysis, or acquisition of space systems
  • Experience in multiple space operations and space control-related fields, including but not limited to orbit dynamics, rendezvous and proximity operations, navigation, sensor employment, communications, and command and control
  • Demonstrated System Engineering skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, math and/or physics.
  • Active TS and SCI eligible
  • Willing to consent to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph examination
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience
