Job summary

Viking Enterprise Solutions (VES), part of the Sanmina family, seeks a Lead Systems Design Engineer in Colorado Springs to lead the local development team for innovative server and storage products. You will work cross-functionally to deliver next-generation designs for internally specified and customer-specific projects.

The role requires extensive experience in electro-mechanical design, signal integrity, and enclosure design, with a focus on high-density storage and GPU-enabled enclosures.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
• 12 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with electro-mechanical system design.
• Understanding tradeoffs between mechanical packaging and electrical layout.
• Knowledge of signal integrity concepts.
• Knowledge of enclosure design (sheet metal and plastics).
• PCB fabrication and assembly process familiarity.
• Enclosure level factory assembly and integration process knowledge.
• Ability to evaluate system requirements and delivery quality products.
• Ability to develop and track development schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaborative teams to develop server and storage products.
• Provide technical and program leadership to design teams.
• Mentor local design teams to develop server and storage products.
• Provide cross-functional technical guidance across the organization.
• Contribute to Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for server and storage products.
• Support RFQs and Business Development activities as required.
• Perform limited hands-on testing and troubleshooting of server and storage products as required.
