Job summary

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Lead Systems Engineering Architect to provide senior systems architecture and engineering analysis for Navy shore network improvements. The role evaluates design alternatives and recommends technical approaches that meet operational needs, connecting architecture decisions with maturity, security, reliability, and lifecycle constraints.

The candidate will lead evaluations, perform readiness analyses, and advise leadership on engineering risk, ensuring on-site

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance required.
DoD 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.

Responsibilities

Translate current and future mission requirements into system architectures and recommended technical solutions.
Lead evaluations of products and vendor capabilities using documented requirements and constraints.
Conduct technology readiness, risk and trade analyses to improve operations and support investment decisions.
Evaluate reliability, maintainability, availability, human factors, safety, power and cooling effects on proposed designs.
Review security evaluation findings and coordinate recommendations with cybersecurity and test teams.
Present engineering assessments to project teams and track technical risks through resolution.
