Job summary

Atlanta Swim Academy is expanding and seeks an Assistant Swim Instructor to start immediately. You will lead small groups and teach age- and ability-appropriate skills, while fostering a positive, safe learning environment for swimmers of all ages.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong communication, leadership and teamwork. Training and growth opportunities exist, with options for advancement within the program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of swimming mechanics and skills.
• Strong communication with children and adults.
• Comfortable working with children of all ages.
• Ability to lead and motivate participants.
• Available for at least one 4-hour shift on weekends.
• Active lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certification preferred; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead small groups (1-4) of swimmers through progressive skills.
• Plan and organize class time with lesson plans.
• Teach and lead with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
• Provide consistency by managing each assigned lesson.
• Communicate with parents and swimmers on progress toward goals.
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports.
• Enforce all facility policies, rules and regulations.
• Cover all material required in a level.
