British Swim School of Frederick-Upper Montgomery County is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach lessons to children and adults, starting from 3 months old, using our fun, gentle, progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build confidence and work with swimmers of varying abilities, with a focus on safety and fun in the water.

You will lead lessons, follow our curriculum, and maintain certifications while working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic personality and reliable work ethic.
• Comfortable around water; strong swimming is a plus.
• Must complete aquatics-specific training and testing.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility as Lead Instructor assisting aquatics manager and business owner(s).
• Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
• Work evenings (4pm-7pm), weekends (9am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment where relevant.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours.
• Must be reliable and dependable with good work ethics.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality.
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)
