Johnson Bros. Corporation is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead a field survey crew on the Shands Bridge project near Green Cove Springs and Jacksonville, FL.

You will manage layout, control, and as-built documentation for a marine, heavy-civil construction. You will operate robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS, review plans, and coordinate with engineers and foremen to ensure accuracy and safety on barges and in marine environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years land/construction surveying experience, including 2+ years as Party Chief.
• Experience on heavy civil, bridge, or FDOT/DOT projects.
• Proficiency with robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS survey equipment.
• Familiarity with survey software (Trimble Business Center, Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Ability to read and interpret civil/structural/roadway plans.

Responsabilités

• Lead and direct a field survey crew, assigning daily tasks and ensuring safe, accurate work.
• Establish and verify horizontal/vertical control points and monuments.
• Perform construction staking for roadway and bridge layouts, including barge-based work.
• Operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, and data collectors; maintain equipment.
• Review plans and data to verify elevations and offsets; coordinate with engineers and foremen.
• Maintain field notes and QC data; produce as-built survey data for close-out.
• Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and JBC safety requirements.
• Mentor junior rod persons and instrument operators.
