Prairie Engineers, P.C. is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief based in Hannibal, MO, with travel to multiple regional offices.

You will lead field crews on boundary, topographic, and geodetic projects across the Midwest and country, delivering accurate surveys using modern equipment and methods. You’ll supervise field operations, collaborate with licensed surveyors and engineers, and contribute to data processing and deliverables.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading a survey party or field crew with GNSS and robotic total stations.
• No college degree required; field leadership and sound judgment matter most.
• Overnight travel for ~80% of assignments with lodging and per diem provided.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Lead field crews performing boundary, topographic, geodetic control, hydrographic, and other surveys.
• Plan and coordinate daily assignments, crew resources, and field operations.
• Oversee GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, and electronic data collection.
• Maintain data accuracy and documentation while leading safe, quality-focused work.
• Perform survey calculations and data processing; support plats and plans.
• Train and mentor crew members and establish consistent field practices.
• Coordinate with managers, licensed surveyors, and clients to meet schedules.
