Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services Team working in Neuro at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a PRN day shift position with weekend and holiday flexibility and call rotation involved.

You will assist surgeons, maintain a sterile environment, and prepare instruments and supplies for procedures. Education includes an associate degree or equivalent, BLS, and CST options are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required.
• Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Participate in the required call rotation.
