Job summary

Old Derby Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced surgical and dental technician to join our surgery and dental service from day one, supporting anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery while coordinating outpatient care.

You will be involved in placing IV catheters, managing anesthesia, monitoring ECG and vitals, taking dental radiographs, scaling and charting teeth, and maintaining sterile technique across procedures.

Qualifications

• Surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry experience required.
• Proficient in dental radiographs and charting.
• Strong communication with doctors, teammates, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Use technician skills across induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Place IV catheters, manage anesthesia from start to finish.
• Monitor vitals and respond to changes promptly.
• Take and position dental radiographs; scale, polish, chart teeth.
• Prepare patients and suites; maintain sterile technique.
• Support post-op recovery and client discharge instructions.
• Keep accurate anesthesia and procedure records.
• Assist with inpatient and outpatient scheduling and patient flow.
