Job summary

BOMAG AMERICAS INC. is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to build and maintain a world-class supplier base, ensuring quality, delivery, and operational readiness across cross-functional teams.

You will apply APQP/PPAP methods and Six Sigma tools to drive improvements and minimize risk in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires 5+ years in supplier quality or development, strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, and a track record of supporting new product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, quality engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and other automotive or heavy equipment quality methodologies.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and developing supplier improvement plans.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting new product launches and supplier development activities preferred.
• ASQ CQE, Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, audits, and performance management.
• Drive new product launch readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as primary technical liaison between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Apply quality engineering principles and Six Sigma methods to develop sustainable supplier performance.
• Support lean manufacturing and risk minimization across the supplier base.
