Job summary

Zipline is hiring an experienced Supplier Industrialization lead to scale electric motors for autonomous drone systems. The role partners with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing and global suppliers to ensure scalable, reliable production.

You will own supplier readiness from prototype through production ramp, drive APQP/PPAP and Lean improvements, and travel about 50% across Japan and Southeast Asia to support partners. This is an on-site role at Zipline HQ.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in supplier industrialization, quality, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience launching high-volume electric motors or electromechanical products.
• Strong knowledge of BLDC motors, rotor/stator, magnets and winding.
• Experience with global manufacturing partners and quality systems.
• Hands-on APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC and production validation.
• Willingness to travel ~50% across Japan and Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, development and industrialization for motors.
• Own supplier readiness from prototype to production ramp.
• Assess supplier capability, process maturity, quality systems and capacity.
• Lead APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC and production validation activities.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and supplier performance improvements.
• Develop should-cost models and support sourcing strategies.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for design changes, new product introductions and transfers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Operations to ensure successful launches.
