Kenneth Young Center in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a Supervisor of Child & Adolescent School Therapy to oversee mobile therapy teams serving school districts and families.

The role includes clinical and administrative supervision, collaboration with School Districts, and ensuring high-quality services across school, home, clinic, telehealth, and community settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• LCSW/LCPC preferred, but eligible to sit for the exam may be considered.
• IM-CANS certification or obtaining it within 30 days of hire.
• Must have supervised experience in counseling/psychotherapy.
• Knowledge of diagnostic assessment, treatment planning and coordination.
• Basic computer skills; MS Word and internet proficiency.
• Valid IL Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the team.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision of staff and supervisees.

Job Scope: Provide clinical and administrative oversight to a team of clinicians providing child and adolescent mobile therapy services. Provide coverage in the absence of the Manager of Child & Adolescent Services. Provide a full range of mental health services to a case load of clients and their families within School District. Services will be provided where needed by the client and School District including but not limited in school, in client homes, in clinic, telehealth, or within the community where appropriate. Specific team assignments and duties will be determined based on clinical expertise, experience, interest and credentials.

Primary Supervisory and Administrative Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day clinical and administrative operations and activities of full and part-time Child and Adolescent mobile therapists.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision of employees including clinical direction and assistance with treatment planning and service delivery
• Create and maintain effective system of referrals, case assignment, coordination and tracking for clients referred from School District.
• Act as liaison between Child and Adolescent Teams, medical staff and other agency teams to ensure service coordination and continuity of care and coordination with School District.
• Provide ongoing performance evaluation for supervisees building on strengths and identifying ongoing growth/training needs
• Participate in coordination, planning and development meetings between child and adolescent services teams
• Assist Manager in maintaining and strengthening relationships with and provide outreach services to local school districts and other community providers
• Participate in monitoring staffing needs, interviewing, hiring, and orientation and training of new staff
• Participate in program planning, service coordination, practice development, as a member of Program Services Committee.
• Participate in problem identification and resolution and clinical quality assurance, as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee
• Represent Agency at community events
• Interpret and communicate at a service delivery level KYC policy and procedures
• Work cooperatively School District MTSS team to assure clients timely access to quality services
• Meet agency quality and compliance standard by accurately completing clinical documentation and service reporting in a timely manner.
• Meet or exceed service productivity target which may be achieved with direct service to School District clients or engaging in and providing clinical services to KYC clients until School District client volume meets direct service capacity of this job.
• Implement evidenced based practices to ensure use of effective and efficient treatment that best address client needs
• Participation in All Staff meetings and other staff meetings and training as directed by supervisor.
• Working cooperatively with other Center and School teams and programs to maintain smooth continuity of care when cases are shared across teams
• Become familiar with and utilization of outside resources as needed to provide comprehensive services to clients
• Participate in clinical and administrative supervision with direct supervisor and in regular performance appraisals as directed
• Additional duties as assigned

Clinical Performance Requirements

• Provide initial screenings and mental health assessments that identify service needs and recommend options for care.
• Share assessment findings with clients and their families.
• Involve client and their families in the development of treatment plan goals, objectives and interventions that address their assessed behavioral health needs.
• Provide individual, family and group therapy services.
• Provide case management services to assist clients and their families with access to needed benefits and services
• Provide coordinated care by initiating or participating in client centered consultation with other internal and external providers involved in care or services.
• Reassess and review treatment progress with clients and their families at prescribed intervals.
• Assist in establishing effective communication between the Center, School District, other social agencies serving clients, and the community
• Attend Staffings or meetings as needed to coordinate care and services for the School District clients.
• Coordinate between the school MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports) team and KYC’s Behavioral Health team.
• Flexibility in schedule and job duties during School breaks and summer to continue providing clinical services, education around mental health, presentations for School District and community.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or University in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or closely related discipline required.
• 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
• LCSW/LCPC preferred, but will consider applicants that are eligible to sit for the exam in the future.
• IM-CANS certified or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Must have supervised experience in providing counseling and/or psychotherapy services.
• Must demonstrate knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, long and short term treatment, family systems theory and group treatment
• Must have basic computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet skills and keyboarding skills.
• Applicant must have a valid IL Driver’s License and daily access to a well maintained/insured vehicle

Schedule/Time Keeping

• Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried, 37.5 hour work week
• Must work a flexible schedule in response to the needs of the target population served, including evening and Saturday hours.
